SESSION HIGHLIGHTS

~ The PNC is working on the financial section of the Congregation Information Form.

~ Use of the TenPas room and kitchen was approved for August 16 from 2-4 p.m. for a bridal shower for Megan Schultz.

~ Use of the TenPas room and kitchen was approved for September 13 for the afternoon for the Presbytery’s Session Records Committee to meet and read Session minutes and Church registers.

~ The Casselton ChildCare Network will start meeting again in the TenPas room on September 18 at 7:00 p.m. and thereafter on the third Thursday of each month.

~ Lana Schultz represented our church at the wall raising ceremony for the local Habitat for Humanity Build.

~ Committees of the church are to have their budgets completed and returned to Joe Morken by September 20.

~ Elders Joe Morken and Lorna Brown will assist in celebrating communion on August 3.

~ The next Session meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 13 at 7:00 p.m. if a moderator is available.

Keep the Chogoria Partnership Team, co-led by our moderator Pastor Matt Stith and Pastor Nancy Emerson of Moorhead, in your prayers. This team of 11 will strengthen those relationships with members of our sister churches in Kenya through many activities, including Vacation Bible School. The team will be traveling from July 29-August 18.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

As partners in the Habitat for Humanity local build, our participation is needed. Jobs needing workers, helpers, lunch providers are posted in the foyer at Martin’s Lutheran Church.

If a group would like to work together on a certain date, please sign up at the Lutheran Church.

Monetary donations are welcome and checks should be made payable to Thrivent Builds, C/O Les Wiestock, 642 South 8th Avenue, Casselton, ND 58012.

Please prayerfully consider giving your time and talents to this worthwhile project – a home for the Eileen House family.

A FREE one-day seminar at First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead is being held on Wednesday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Mr. Bill Tenny-Brittian will lead participants in 4 mini workshops entitled: "You Can’t Lead Where You’re Not Going"; Becoming the Model You Were Created To Be"; "Raising up Spiritual Leaders"; and "Accountability that Changes Lives."

CLEARWATER CHRYSALIS

The Women’s Chrysalis Summer Retreat is set for August 21-24 at Clearwater Forest. Rev. Kim Skilling will lead attendees in "Following the Wild Goose," the Celtic symbol for the Holy Spirit.

MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Mission opportunities are for new or barely used flat twin or double sheets for hospitals in third world countries. They can also be colored and patterned.

Thermal blankets new or barely used twin or double are also needed.

Baby blankets, new or barely used that are flannelette or soft lightweight material and 36X45 inches.

Baby gowns

Look for a box in the TenPas room to receive the items. They will be distributed through Brethren Service Center.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

Presbyterian Women will meet Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m. for a planning meeting. Plans are to also clean the kitchen that evening.

Christian Education is looking for art and craft supplies to be donated to Church School this year. A basket for the donations is located in the TenPas room.
