A Family of Faith and Fellowship

At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we strive to reach out to our community by participating in several ministries. Through our actions, we can show God's love and direction in many ways.

The Sonshine Center

The Sonshine Center is a non-profit, Christian-based preschool and daycare where emphasis is placed on upholding common beliefs of all denominations of the Christian Church; a place where children can have fun and parents can trust that their children are getting a quality, early childhood education.

Westminster Presbyterian Church sponsored the Center and provided the Task Force to get the Center up and running. Westminster continues to offer support and guidance to the Center through pastoral visits and other contributions.

The Sonshine Center currently an enrollment of sixty-three children enrolled and a staff of thirteen.

Adopt A Highway

Adopt-A-Highway is a program that offers our church the opportunity to show that we care about the environment.

Food wrappers, aluminum cans, newspapers, cigarette packs, and plastic bottles are left behind by many careless people along North Dakota’s roadways. When trash and debris litter our roadways, it doesn’t leave a good impression on motorists traveling through our state.

By volunteering to clear a three-mile section of an interstate highway during the months of April through September, Westminster shows that we care about the environment. Also, we help to minimize roadway maintenance costs and save taxpayer dollars. Keeping our roadways clean is the responsibility of all of us and we are part of the effort to keep North Dakota clean and green.

Westminster’s name is placed on an Adopt-A-Highway sign along the north section of Interstate 94 (westbound lanes) between mile marker 334 and 335.

Apple Pie Ministry

Westminster Presbyterian Church greets newcomers to Casselton via the Apple Pie Ministry. Founded by the Presbyterian Women in 2007, the ministry’s volunteers deliver freshly-baked homemade apple pies to new Casselton residents in an effort to welcome new families to our community as well as make them aware of the church’s presence. The latest delivery was made to the newly completed Habitat for Humanity home on Sept 24, 2008. With over sixty pies to their credit, the young ministry continues to meet and greet the latest Casselton arrivals.
